100mm (4”) f/900 ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescope

The Evostar-100ED apochromatic doublet refractor has received some interesting mechanical improvements as well as a new optical design. We are pleased to introduce the new EVOSTAR-100EDX model. It is the result of several very useful mechanical improvements and a change in aperture from f/9 to a significantly faster and more image-friendly f/7. Presented in its stunning new white and green livery, the EVOSTAR-100EDX, with the necessary accessories, is an excellent instrument for imaging and visual applications.
The new EVOSTAR-100EDX model features an enlarged, indexed 2.8-inch focusing tube with an integrated 360° rotating adapter, a retractable dew cap, and a top rail that conveniently serves as a carrying handle.
Now with f/7-matched optics, including a high-quality Japanese Ohara FPL-53 ED glass lens element that virtually eliminates chromatic aberration. An optional 0.92x optically matched focal length reducer/field flattener (code 20332) is available for imaging.
The optics deliver razor-sharp stars with deep, black, high-contrast skies. Each air-to-glass lens surface is coated with exotic anti-reflective metallic coatings to ensure optimal light transmission of nearly 99.5%! Sky-Watcher's proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHTC) are the highest-quality photonic anti-reflection coatings in their class.
Apochromatic refractors produce the sharpest, highest-quality optical imaging available at any aperture due to their unobstructed, textbook-like diffraction patterns, unmatched by any other telescope optical system.
Evostar ED doublets have long been the preferred imaging refractors of many astrophotographers due to their excellent imaging performance and affordable price. Due to their lower glass content, they are also generally significantly lighter and more manageable than comparable triplets or other multi-piece ED refractors.
