Products description
ZWO ASI2600MC Pro / cooled color astro camera - CMOS - Sensor D= 28.6 mm October 2025
ZWO ASI 2600 MC/MM Pro - a powerful, next-generation astro camera
ZWO has taken another step forward with this new camera. The APS-C sensor enables astrophotography with large fields of view.
One of the outstanding features of the ASI 2600 MC/MM Pro is its sensational light sensitivity. The QE of 80-90% thanks to BACK ILLUMINATION technology and the very low amplifier glow make the camera ideal for all astronomical applications (but especially for deep-sky astrophotography).
Further advantages and product features of the ASI 2600 MC/MM Pro camera:
USB 3.0 for fast downloads - can also be operated with USB 2.0
DDR3 memory buffer for stable data transfer with USB 2.0 - minimizes amplifier glow
Powerful Peltier cooling down to 35°C below ambient temperature
One of Sony's most light-sensitive CMOS sensors
High resolution thanks to 3.76 µm pixels - ideal for fast and sharp telescopes, such as APOs, Hyperstars, Celestron Faststars, and fast Newtonian telescopes
High sensitivity (QE approx. 80% - 90%), ideal for astronomy cameras for faint objects
16-bit ADC, allowing you to achieve depths similar to those achieved with CCD cameras, but with significantly higher sensitivity
Camera applications:
Deep-sky imaging (nebulae and galaxies): The high sensitivity allows nebulae and galaxies to be imaged in just a few seconds. The camera can be cooled to temperatures as low as 35°C below ambient temperature. This further reduces the already low noise. By increasing the GAIN, you can reduce exposure times to less than 30 seconds. This eliminates the effects of tracking inaccuracies.
Lunar and planetary imaging: Extremely short exposure times due to high sensitivity freeze atmospheric turbulence. The sensor's high resolution allows for the capture of many details even with shorter telescope focal lengths. Video astronomy is also possible.
Special features of the ZWO ASI Pro cameras:
The ASI Pro cameras are equipped with a 512 MB DDR3 buffer memory, which ensures reliable data transfer. The buffer memory also reduces the so-called amp glow.
The ASI Pro cameras also feature an improved housing. Four screws reliably seal the sensor chamber. The design has been extensively tested and has proven to be extremely robust. Even in environments with high humidity, the camera does not exhibit fogging due to dew.
To enable breathtaking deep-sky images, the ASI Pro cameras also feature a two-stage Peltier cooling system. This significantly reduces sensor noise.
ZWO ASI cameras with active cooling require an additional 12-volt power supply. If you don't have a suitable power supply, you can find it in the accessory recommendations.
Requires 12V at 3A~5A DC with a D5.5×2.1mm connector, center pole positive, or a lithium battery with 11 to 14 volts. Please note that using a power supply outside this voltage range will likely cause irreparable damage to the camera.
