The reducer shortens the telescope's focal length; consequently, it is also known as a focal reducer. This makes the optical system "faster" for photography and results in a brighter image. Additionally, the field of view is expanded.
Since a stronger signal is captured within the same exposure time when using a reducer, you can expect a higher signal-to-noise ratio and, therefore, greater detail in your images.
Installing this reducer is quick and easy. First, remove the four-part photographic adapter from the Askar FRA400C by turning it counter-clockwise. Next, remove the reducer's dust cap and screw the unit onto your telescope. Attach your camera to the reducer's M48 male thread, ensuring a working distance of 55 mm. You are now ready to start imaging!
