Almost every hobby astronomer knows the problem: they want to observe Deep Sky objects from the city, but the humid air makes the sky glow. The observation result is therefore unsatisfactory and you do not have much fun.
The Seben CLR filter can be a very useful help with this problem! We have submitted the Seben CLR Filter to experienced astronomers for review and the response has always been very positive. Try the Seben CLR Filter through its paces.
The Seben CLR is a contrast enhancement filter for the observation of foggy deep-sky objects.
A sky brightened by city light (more precisely: sky foreground) becomes considerably darker through the Seben CLR filter and thus a successful observation of bright deep-sky objects is better possible. The increased contrast greatly facilitates the perception of fine details, e.g. in parade objects like the Orion Nebula M42 and its foothills.
Another pleasant effect is reduced exposure times in astro photography.
Even with smaller optics from 80mm outlet, the light transmission for observation at higher magnifications is large enough, as the Seben CLR filter is broadband than UHC or O-III filter.
In comparison to a UHC filter, the Seben CLR filter also shows a less color distorted image in the eyepiece and, at the same magnification, more stars. Also objects in the solar system experience a high contrast increase.
The stable Seben CLR filter has a 7.5mm thick socket, with a filter change in the winter with gloves easily from the hand.
The Seben CLR filter fits on all standard 31.7mm (1.25") eyepieces, filter wheels, filter pushers and many webcam adapters (if equipped with a filter thread).
