With the so-called "double-stacking" the half-width is reduced in H-alpha systems. With a narrower half-width, the contrast on the sun's surface is drastically increased, allowing much more details to be seen.

Also with the LS50THa telescopes double stacking with a reduction of the half width to only <0,5 Angstrom is possible. Lunt Solar Systems has specially designed this LS50C Double-Stack Filter in a compact package. The filter can be screwed directly onto the LS50THa telescopes.
