The Sky-Watcher 0.85x focal length reducer and field flattener has been developed for the dedicated astrophotographer, who wants to make full use of the well-known ED 80/600mm also for astrophotography. The flattener reduces the focal length of the refractor to 510mm with an aperture ratio of f/6.3. In this case, the image field is extended to the corners of the recording format, e.g. corrected by DSLR cameras very well.

The advantages of Reducers & Flatteners:

- Optimized for this refractor, ensuring optimal results despite the shortening
- Better illumination than with reducers with T2 connection - also suitable for full format chips
- No expensive additional adapter needed

The flattener is suitable for the following telescopes:

- Skywatcher ED 80/600 (Pro series, Evostar ED80 ...)
- Celestron ED 80/600
- Vixen ED 80/600

Technical specifications:

- Telescope side ... matching thread for screwing to the focuser
- On the camera side ... M48 thread for more illumination - suitable T-rings for DSLR cameras to find under recommended equipment
- Distance from the M48 thread to the optimal focus position ... 55mm (this is exactly a DSLR camera + T-ring)
