Celestron NexStar Evolution - Power LED flashes quickly

Product Description
We were sent a Nexstar Evolution mount that displayed the following error message. The Celestron logo LED on the side of the arm (above the Wi-Fi logo) was flashing rapidly. The battery could not be charged, even after several hours of charging. During normal charging, this LED should flash slowly and periodically (every second or slower) with a dimming effect. After removing the power supply, the mount was able to operate briefly, but after a few minutes, it displayed a "Low Battery" message on the hand controller display.

To determine the cause of the error—our initial suspicion was a defective battery pack or circuit board—we opened the mount and took a look at the circuit board.

To do this, we first removed the orange clamp rings. To do this, slightly loosen (not unscrew) the three small screws on the edge of the ring, then lift the rings off. We then remove the rubberized eyepiece tray by pulling it out. A gentle back-and-forth motion may help; the eyepiece tray is held in place in the base with three rubber spacers. The six hexagon sockets on the base are removed. We lift off the base cover. Now we have a clear view of the circuit board.

Upon closer inspection, we noticed a loose pin/connector. We then reattached the pin to the circuit board.

Several subsequent startup attempts proceeded without the previously occurring error. The mount also charged without any problems.
