Short circuit in the Skywatcher Star Adventurer

While testing a Star Adventurer, we noticed that there must be a short circuit somewhere in the device.

After a quick check, we found the problem:

The socket where the battery compartment cable connects was factory-fitted with a short circuit. This meant the mount could be used as a barbecue lighter, but we wanted to use it for its original purpose. After a quick stab at the soldering iron, it's ready for use again.
