Jupiter and M42 with ToupTek G3M178C and LX200 10"

Hello Mr. Kloss,

Attached are the two photos of Jupiter and M42 as JPGs:

Telescope: LX200 10" f/10, azimuthally mounted
Camera: ToupTek G3M178C
Capture Software: ToupView

For Jupiter, the best 25% of 1377 frames stacked with Autostakkert and processed with Registax (linear Gaussian wavelet filter). Note the shadow cast by Io on Jupiter!

For M42, 17 frames (each exposed for 3 seconds) stacked with MaximDL and processed with "Digital Development-FFT Low Pass Filter Medium." This could certainly be improved and was actually just a quick and dirty test to explore the camera's deep sky potential. The mount didn't perform optimally due to poor alignment, so only 3 seconds of exposure time per frame was used. The image is already very good and shows what the camera + MaximDL can do.

Wishing you equally clear nights, and see you next time.
Best, Lohwasser
