TS adjustment telescope for RC, Cassegrain and Dall-Kirkham telescopes and refractors
With the adjustment telescope you can adjust your telescope perfectly in just a few minutes.
With most adjustment aids it is difficult to assign the individual elements that can be seen when looking into the telescope. This makes targeted adjustment difficult and adjustment is complex and inaccurate.
With the TS adjustment telescope these problems are a thing of the past: you use the sliding focus to focus on the element to be adjusted (e.g. secondary mirror) and are not distracted by the other components or reflections.
The integrated lighting, which has a 12V hollow plug connection and brightness adjustment, enables the telescope to be adjusted even in bright surroundings.
Special features of the TS adjustment telescope
♦ T2 thread on the telescope side; adapters for M90 and M117 are available
♦ 1.25" eyepiece clamp and T2 thread on the eyepiece side
♦ A camera can be plugged in or screwed on
♦ An adjustment laser can be inserted
♦ Suitable for adjusting refractors
♦ In order to be able to focus on the lens of short-focal-length refractors, the adjustment telescope can be extended with normal T2 sleeves.
♦ Two eyepieces are included in the scope of delivery.
♦ The included eyepieces can also be used for observation.
Using an adjustment laser
Especially with RC telescopes, the axis of the eyepiece extension thread should first be correctly adjusted. The frequently used method of only paying attention to the center mark on the secondary mirror can lead to a deterioration in the adjustment.
A laser is used for this adjustment.
With other adjustment aids, there must be a distance between the laser and the adjustment device The laser can be inserted directly into the TS alignment telescope. This avoids possible inaccuracies when changing.
Using a camera
Instead of the eyepiece, a camera can be inserted into the 1.25" connection of the TS alignment telescope. If you collimate your telescope without an eyepiece extension, i.e. with a directly screwed-on alignment telescope, a camera must always be connected to the 1.25" clamp because there must be a possibility of movement for focusing.
If you collimate with OAZ, you can also use the T2 thread to mount the camera. Depending on the flange focal distance of the camera, one of the two T2 intermediate rings may have to be removed.
Adjusting smaller RC telescopes
For RC telescopes with six and eight inch apertures, the circumferential light gap (gap between the baffle tubes) is usually used to adjust the main mirror. In newer telescopes, this gap is no longer visible, which is why this adjustment reference is missing. Alternatively, the holders of the secondary mirror struts can be used; however, these are difficult to see, which makes the adjustment result inaccurate. With the TS adjustment telescope, you can see these holders significantly enlarged and adjust the telescope without any problems.
Adjusting refractors
Thanks to the bright integrated lighting, refractors can also be adjusted without any problems. The different colored (depending on the coating) and different sized ring-shaped reflections on the surfaces can be highlighted or dampened using the sliding focus.
View through the adjusting telescope into a misaligned two-lens refractor
To adjust refractors with a short focal length, it may be necessary to extend the focus adjustment range of the adjusting telescope. Commercially available T2 extension sleeves can be used for this.
Adjusting the adjusting telescope? No!
The TS adjusting telescope has no parts that can be adjusted. Checking and adjusting is therefore not necessary.
Eyepieces for two magnifications
You can use the included eyepieces on the adjusting telescope according to your requirements, but also for observation. Basically, any eyepiece that has a standard 1.25" filter thread on the body can be used in the alignment telescope. However, we cannot guarantee that every combination will lead to a perfect alignment result.
