First impression of a Sywatcher EQ-AL55i

 

 

Having just arrived, the new Skywatcher EQ-AL55i had to be inspected.

 

It is similar in size to the Skywatcher StarAdventurer GTi, but has a few different technical specifications:

In contrast to the presentation of a competitor, we unfortunately have to point out that there is no belt drive installed here.

The designer had a wry sense of humor: 4 Phillips screws (Philips) and a 2 mm Allen screw were used for the cover.



The EQ-AL55i looks more valuable than an EQ5, the load capacity of 10 kg seems to be realistic; with the EQ5 I would mount a maximum of 5 kg photographically. The video can be found under Download.
