The EARTHA project is the result of years of study, planning, and failed attempts, which we overcame thanks to our trust in our capable suppliers and the reliability of our project.
Long-term field tests have shown that the tracking system works well at variable latitudes ranging from 30° to 60° inclination.
There were many difficulties to overcome, one of which concerned us most: variable declination. Indeed, it is not easy to be able to vary the latitude depending on the observation area.
Another challenge was solving the drag problem that limited the tracking time. In fact, after a certain tracking time, the system began to slip and no longer "grip," making observations only "useful" for a few minutes. Now, tracking lasts for one hour.
We have retained the load capacity of the previous version; Dobsonians up to 24" and weighing up to 80 kg can now be used.
The platform's width can be adjusted in 2° increments, allowing you to take it to various "star parties" even with significant latitude fluctuations, knowing that you'll have to adjust the speed control very little after changing the latitude.
The remote control allows you to increase or decrease the tracking speed, and a dedicated button returns the platform to its original position.
This electrical system is powered by a 12-volt battery (not included) located under the base.
