Omegon UV/IR Cutoff Filter 1.25''
Omegon IR/UV Blocking Filter – Sharp Planetary Images for Your Images
Truly sharp planetary images are only possible with an IR/UV blocking filter. The Omegon filter allows only visible light between 400 and 680 nm to pass through. This completely blocks the UV and IR light ranges.
CCD Planetary and Star Images: A Sharp Picture
A CCD camera is sensitive not only to visible light but also to other wavelengths. The planet is imaged in visible light and, for example, also in infrared. However, the image is blurry. With the Omegon filter, you only allow the desired visible light to pass through. And your trump card is a sharp planetary image.
Solar Observation: Protection Against UV Light
The Omegon UV/IR filter is also very helpful for solar observation. It filters out the dangerous UV radiation that can contribute to clouding of the eye's lens. This filter is essential for use with a Herschel wedge telescope, but it's also extremely useful when observing with objective solar filters (e.g., foil filters).
Your eyes are precious: Protect them with the Omegon UV/IR Blocking Filter.
