ToupTek G3M678C Color Planetary Camera and Autoguider - IMX678C D=8.86 mm
The camera offers very high resolution for lunar and planetary photography. It can also be used for EAA, long exposure, and as an autoguider.
Sensor: 1/1.8" CMOS IMX678 with 8.29 megapixels resolution
Sensor size: 7.68 mm x 4.32 mm - diagonal: 8.86 mm
Practical 1.25" body, you can insert the camera into the telescope or off-axis guider like an eyepiece
Extremely high resolution: 2.0 µm pixels
SONY STARVIS 2 technology - back-illuminated pixel technology
With up to approx. 83% QE, high sensitivity for short exposure times
USB 3.0 for fast image download
Very low readout noise (from 0.42 e-)
Well suited for EAA due to high frame rate of 47 fps
Well suited for deep sky imaging
Sun and Moon are completely shown up to approx. 430 mm focal length
Built-in AR protection filter with full transmission even in infrared
Includes ST4-level autoguiding interface
No more amp glow detectable
Extensive scope of delivery, including USB and ST4 cables, C-mount adapter, 1.25" extension tube
The camera is equipped with a modern SONY IMX678C sensor. The new SONY STARVIS and Exmor-R technology produces very low-noise images with high sensitivity at the same time. Added to this is a very high resolution thanks to particularly small 2 µm pixels. The result is a very versatile camera that delivers excellent results for a wide range of requirements. Among other things, the camera is well suited for:
Lunar and planetary photography - the small pixels allow you to take high-resolution images of the moon and planets without extending the focal length, e.g., with a Barlow lens.
Solar photography with a suitable filter - up to approx. 430 mm focal length, the sun (or moon) is completely shown
EAA (Electronically Assisted Astronomy) of these objects through a suitable frame rate
Autoguiding - a guide star is always found, here too the guiding accuracy is very high due to the 2.0 µm pixels
Deep sky photography: the high sensitivity of the sensor allows capturing nebulae and galaxies with short exposure times. High-resolution images of bright objects, such as the center of M42, the Hourglass Nebula, or compact, bright planetary nebulae, can easily be achieved with this camera.
The practical 1.25" body:
The camera comes with a compact 1.25" body. This makes it easy to connect to the telescope. The camera is inserted into the focuser like an eyepiece and focused. You can start astrophotography immediately. In addition, the body is equipped with a female C-mount thread on the telescope side. This allows you to screw the camera to the telescope or a camera lens.
