Special offer: Celestron C9.25 SC XLT with 3" Losmandy rail 235/2350mm optical tube OTA
Attention: Special offer for limited quantities!
The C-9.25 is more than just an intermediate step between the C-8 and the C-11. It offers higher contrast and better field sharpness than comparable Schmidt-Cassegrains. This makes the C-9.25 particularly well-suited for observing the Moon and planets. Celestron designed the C-9.25 specifically for amateur astronomers who don't want to compromise on aperture but still desire sharpness and contrast close to that of a Maksutov.
This is the result of a complete redesign of the optics. The C-9 is approximately the same length as the C-11, yet it maintains a focal ratio of f/10. The primary and secondary mirrors have a less extreme focal ratio and therefore slightly smaller radii than other Schmidt-Cassegrains. With the same manufacturing precision, this results in improved image quality at focus. Naturally, every C-9.25 is hand-retouched.
Applications
The optics of the C-9.25 guarantee the ultimate viewing experience in deep-sky observing. The optimization for high contrast and sharpness is particularly beneficial for observers when viewing faint nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies.
Moon and planet observation becomes a true pleasure with this instrument. The C 9.25 effectively bridges the gap between the very expensive Maksutov-Cassegrains and other Schmidt-Cassegrains. Its longer design, and thus the reduced radii of the individual optical elements, results in higher contrast. The C 9.25 is the planetary specialist among Schmidt-Cassegrains.
Astrophotography is also easily achievable with the C 9.25. The same advantages apply to photographing the Moon and planets as to visual observation. You have sufficient focusing range to work with powerful focal reducer systems, allowing you to capture nebulae and galaxies with moderate exposure times.
XLT Coating: This multi-layered anti-reflective coating gives Celestron optics exceptionally high light transmission. In the particularly important wavelength range around 500 nm, up to 10% more light is transmitted to the eyepiece. The human eye is especially sensitive in this range.
Advantages of the Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain system:
+ Compact design: The combination of a primary mirror and a curved secondary mirror allows for a compact design, which enhances portability.
+ No focusing problems: Focus is achieved by adjusting the primary mirror. This allows you to connect virtually all accessories, such as binoviewers or corrector systems for astrophotography.
+ High rigidity: Even long exposures are possible with the Celestron SC system without any issues of tube flexion.
+ Easy adaptation: The Schmidt-Cassegrain can be easily adapted to various mount types. A universal dovetail rail is always included.
