Sky-Watcher's new, top-of-the-line ESPRIT EDX 3-element ED apochromatic refractors are premium instruments of the highest quality, offering truly stunning optical performance that rivals or even surpasses comparable telescopes from even the most well-known high-end brands.
ESPRIT EDX Super Apo Triplets were designed primarily for discerning astrophotographers, but are also excellent for visual observation. The high-quality, superbly corrected optical systems deliver high-contrast, detailed images with no noticeable color fringing, even on the brightest objects, ensuring exceptional contrast and sharpness.
The ESPRIT 100EDX features the same outstanding f/5.5 optical system as its predecessor (which received a rare 5-star review in Sky At Night magazine), including a premium Japanese Ohara FPL-53 ED glass lens element. Each air-to-glass lens surface is coated with exotic anti-reflective metal coatings to ensure optimal light transmission of nearly 99.5%! Sky-Watcher's proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHTC) are the best-in-class photon anti-rejection coatings!
The ESPRIT 100EDX features an improved backend design that eliminates the capstan wheel design of the previous model, allowing for easier focuser rotation. Additionally, a rotating adapter is attached to the drawtube for further ease of image composition. A carrying handle provides additional comfort. The rugged, CNC-machined, two-speed, rack-and-pinion linear focuser features high payload capacity and zero image shift, as well as a 3-inch indexed drawtube. It is supplied in a foam-lined, aluminum-framed storage/carrying case.
An optically adjusted field flattener (code 20188) is available as an optional imaging accessory.
