Sky-Watcher SynLink brings control of your astrophotography equipment together in one compact unit. Combining USB connectivity, power management and wireless control, SynLink helps reduce cables, simplify setup and provide centralised management of your imaging system. Designed for experienced astrophotographers as well as those developing their first advanced imaging system, SynLink supports a wide range of cameras, mounts and accessories through intuitive cross-platform software.

CENTRALISED SYSTEM CONTROL

SynLink provides centralised control of astronomical cameras, mounts and accessories, helping to simplify the connections between the various components of an imaging system. Multi-brand compatibility allows SynLink to be used with a wide range of equipment, including cameras, mounts, focusers, filter wheels, rotators and flat panels. A direct UART connection is also provided for compatible Sky-Watcher mounts. SynLink is designed to work with equipment from a range of leading astronomy brands. Compatible devices can include astronomy cameras from manufacturers such as ZWO, ToupTek and Player One Astronomy, together with compatible telescope mounts and a wide range of imaging accessories. Support includes equatorial and Alt-Azimuth mounts, DSLR and mirrorless cameras, electronic focusers, field rotators, filter wheels, flat panels, dew-heater systems and other compatible accessories. As software development continues, compatibility with additional devices and equipment is expected to expand over time.

INTEGRATED USB AND POWER HUB

By combining USB connectivity and power management in one unit, SynLink helps reduce the number of cables and separate controllers required, creating a cleaner and more manageable imaging setup. Four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and a USB Type-C port provide flexible connectivity for cameras and other accessories. Power is supplied through four DC outputs, with up to 5A available per output and a maximum total output of 10A. Two dedicated ports are also provided for dew-heater systems. This combination of connectivity and power management makes SynLink a central hub for modern astrophotography systems, helping to simplify cable routing and reduce the equipment required around the telescope.

WIRELESS CONTROL

SynLink uses dual-band 2.4GHz / 5GHz Wi-Fi for wireless management of the imaging system. The software supports Android, iOS, Windows and macOS, allowing equipment to be configured, monitored and controlled from a range of devices. USB-Ethernet adapters are also supported for network expansion. The dedicated application provides a single interface for managing the imaging system, allowing sessions to be controlled remotely from a computer, smartphone or tablet.

INTELLIGENT SOFTWARE

SynLink software provides guided workflows and automatic functions designed to simplify common astrophotography tasks. Automatic device connection helps speed up setup, while the Focus Wizard assists with focusing. Guided polar alignment, plate solving, GOTO and automatic centering help simplify target acquisition and positioning. A range of capture options is available, from single-shot and mosaic imaging through to simple and advanced sequences and video capture. Built-in simulators allow functions to be learned and tested without operating the system under the night sky.

DEEP-SKY IMAGING AND EAA

SynLink is designed for a range of applications, including deep-sky imaging and Electronically Assisted Astronomy (EAA). The combination of centralised equipment control, automated functions and flexible capture modes makes SynLink suitable for both straightforward and more advanced imaging sessions. Future software development is planned to include Alt-Az mode and EAA support.

COMPACT AND PRACTICAL

SynLink combines system control, connectivity and power management in a compact unit designed to mount directly to the mount or telescope tube. The unit includes 64GB of internal storage and supports high-speed external storage. Reverse-polarity protection is included for the main DC power input, which supports up to 10A, helping provide additional protection during installation and operation.
