A look at the circuit board of the Meade LX200 from 1993
Older telescopes and mounts often come to us for repair.
That's what happened with this little gem. A Meade Goto mount from 1993.
The inner workings are screwed into a solid metal casing. Opening the casing reveals a large circuit board.
While you're at it, it's a good idea to check all contacts for corrosion and clean them if necessary. Plug connections should also be checked for tightness.
Caution: Be sure to wear gloves, as the acid-fat mixture on our hands is counterproductive.
The good older Meade pieces are often characterized by very good condition, very solid construction, and stable functionality.
It's always a pleasure for us to have something like this in our hands.
Have fun with it.
