ADVANCED POLARIS EQ Mount
The ADVANCED POLARIS mount is an excellent choice for beginners and also for the experienced observer who wants to use a lightweight travel mount.
Features of the AP mount
Stylish Design & Intuitive Controls
The AP mount is designed to be extra smooth and without any protrusions. Simply place your telescope on the mount and move it to your object of interest without having to loosen any clamps. The mount requires four AA batteries, which are placed inside the AP mount, thus avoiding unnecessary cable tangles and reducing the risk of tearing off the cables or even the mount in the dark.
Quick pole alignment and adjustment
The simple alignment to your target object by means of the slip clutches, facilitates the adjustment enormously, since you do not have to search in the dark for the locking clamps. With the optional polar meter, you can find the celestial pole even if it is obscured by trees or houses.
Optional polar finder scope available
The newly developed polar finder scope is a new way of polar alignment. Simply match the stars visible in the crosshair pattern to the true sky. This is done by 3 reference stars. The polar finder is illuminated for orientation and turns off automatically after 3 minutes to save battery power.
Power supply
The RA and DEC motor modules operate on four AA alkaline, Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries. The RA motor module has a USB Micro-B port for external power. For longer observations, you can use a USB power pack or car charger cable.
Super compact tripod
The newly developed APP-TL130 tripod, ensures both portability and stability for astronomical observations. When retracted, it measures only 60 cm, making it an excellent companion when traveling. The tripod can be extended to a maximum height of 130 cm. The tips of the tripod legs have a retractable rubber cover that protects the ground from scratches.
STAR BOOK ONE control
The STAR BOOK ONE is a versatile yet easy-to-use controller designed to track in the RA and DC axes at various speeds. Tracking options are designed for time lapse from sidereal speed, over lunar speed, solar rate and many more. In addition, the controller offers many useful features such as backlash compensation, autoguider port, PEC and the built-in red LED light.  The STAR BOOK ONE controller is designed for the AP-SM mount and is an integral part of the RA motor module.
SD81S optical tube
Vixen's apochromatic refractors feature SD optical glass super extra-low dispersion in the objective lens. The SD glass provides clear, high-contrast viewing that is free of false color. Brighter F7.7 images will satisfy even the most demanding visual astronomer or astrophotographer. The SD81S comes with a flip-down mirror diagonal that allows you to quickly switch light transmission from straight through to oblique.
