The ASI174MCC features a large 13.4mm diameter CMOS sensor. With 5.86 μm pixel size, the camera can be used universally. The sensor hardly shows "hot pixels". The camera weighs only 410 grams and is also very suitable for smaller telescopes. It can be used as well on Newton telescopes as on APO refractors. The camera sensor allows the use of 1.25 "filters without edge shading problems.

The "single-shot" color camera offers more comfort than MONO cameras. Not everyone wants to go through the elaborate L-RGB process for beautiful colored fog shots. The color cameras offer you the opportunity to get beautiful shots without changing the filter.
