Announcement: CELESTRON ORIGIN INTELLIGENT HOME OBSERVATORY

Stargazing and astrophotography redefined: Celestron Origin is a smart all-in-one home observatory that captures breathtaking views of faint celestial objects in the deep sky and streams them to your phone or tablet. The images you capture in seconds look better than what you would see in the eyepiece of a much larger telescope under a much darker sky.
Revolutionary Optical RASA Technology: Origin's patented 6-inch Rowe-Ackermann-Schmidt Astrograph Optical (RASA) design puts it in a class of its own. With its large aperture and fast f/2.2 focal ratio, you get unprecedented image brightness and clarity with shorter exposure times.
Automatic, AI-powered astrophotography: As Origin captures data, built-in AI algorithms autonomously stack and process each image in real-time. Galaxies and nebulae instantly come to life—sharp, detailed, and brilliantly colored—all without user intervention.
Automated setup with StarSense: First, place Origin outside, turn it on, and connect to the app. Using Celestron's patented StarSense technology, Origin scans the sky and focuses and aligns itself. In less than two minutes, you can select a target and begin imaging.
Intuitive app interface: The easy-to-use Celestron Origin app for iOS and Android, developed in collaboration with Simulation Curriculum, the makers of SkySafari™, provides a simple yet powerful planetarium interface that enables navigation in the sky and control of the system relieved.
Share the view with everyone: Multiple users can use the Origin app to view the telescope's live feed at the same time. You can also cast the view to your smart TV or save and share instantly.
Advanced Features: As you develop your hobby, you can download the raw image files you capture for advanced manual processing. You can also experiment with filters and use Origin during the day for night vision or land-based observations.

Celestron Origin is at the forefront of a new era in amateur astronomy, combining stargazing and astrophotography into a single, easy-to-use experience. This smart all-in-one home observatory takes the complexity out of traditional telescopes and turns your backyard into a gateway to the cosmos. Packed with cutting-edge technology, Celestron Origin captures the beauty of celestial objects and brings them to life on your phone or tablet.

Celestron engineers drew on decades of expertise to develop every detail, from Origin's patented optical technology to the intuitive companion app. The result is a revolutionary new system that builds on Celestron's legacy and makes astronomy more accessible, exciting and fun than ever before.

Optical RASA technology: Unleash the power of light

At the heart of Celestron Origin is the patented Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) – a groundbreaking advance in optics. In the RASA design, the image sensor is located at the front of the telescope tube rather than at the back. This creates an ultra-fast f/2.2 system with an exceptionally wide field of view while delivering sharp images right to the edge. Since its launch in 2014, RASA technology has become the first choice for space surveillance and satellite tracking. National defense contractors, professional research astronomers and governments rely on RASA to detect tiny pieces of debris and space debris, keeping our vital communications satellites safely in orbit. For Origin, Celestron's optical engineers have developed a brand new 6-inch RASA with all the features of an observatory instrument in a convenient package.

Thanks to RASA, Origin is in a class of its own and far exceeds other telescope designs. RASA simply delivers more photons in less time than a smaller and slower Newtonian reflector, refractor, or other entry-level telescope tube. RASA's unique combination of speed, aperture and power ensures unparalleled image detail, even at short exposure times.

To take full advantage of RASA optics, Celestron has selected the Sony IMX178 color CMOS sensor to capture your data. It features backlit STARVIS technology for the highest sensitivity and fast readout with low noise, helping to deliver clear images as quickly as possible. This sensitive chip features small 2.4µm 2 pixels for high resolution - a perfect complement to fast optical design.

Turn any backyard observer into an astrophotographer

Celestron Origin is ushering in a paradigm shift in astrophotography with its integrated AI algorithms. As the telescope collects data, these intelligent algorithms automatically stack and process each image in real time. The result is a stunning display of celestial objects full of color and detail. For the first time, astrophotography is accessible to enthusiasts of all experience levels, even those who have never used a telescope before.

A universe at your fingertips: StarSense technology and the Origin app

Setting up Celestron Origin is a breeze thanks to the automated initialization process with StarSense technology. Place Origin outside, turn it on, and connect to the app. Then you can choose to stay with your telescope or stay indoors. In less than two minutes, Origin focuses, scans the night sky, aligns itself autonomously by matching star patterns in the sky with its internal database, and notifies you that it is ready to begin your astronomical adventure.

The Celestron Origin app, developed in collaboration with Simulation Curriculum, the makers of SkySafari™, offers an intuitive planetarium interface that makes navigating the night sky easy. In Planetarium View, hold your device up to the sky to look around in “Compass Mode” and tap each object you want to see (the best ones are highlighted). Or try Tonight's Best list, where Origin displays the most impressive galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and more - based on your precise location and viewing time. Forget consulting a star chart or planning ahead; Origin is always ready to show you the universe.

Once you select a target, Origin precisely centers it in the field of view. Switch to camera view and press “Start Recording” to start recording 10-second recordings. As simple as that! You'll see the results in real time as the target becomes more detailed. As Origin works, it continuously tracks the sky and adjusts its built-in dew protection system to keep your images crisp.

A shared cosmic experience

Gone are the days of waiting in line to look into an eyepiece. Origin fosters a sense of community as you share the immersive experience of exploring the night sky together. Whether your friends and family are gathered in the same room or outside, multiple people can connect to Origin and stream the view using their own devices. Additionally, Origin lets you stream the live feed to your smart TV or instantly save and share your astro images, creating unforgettable moments beyond the confines of your backyard.

Ready for more? Advanced features

As you grow in your hobby with Origin, it will continue to support you with expanded features and functionality. Origin, for example, has a built-in filter drawer that accepts standard 1.25-inch and 2-inch filters. This allows you to install optional filters that can be particularly useful when imaging nebulae in light-polluted environments such as the typical suburban backyard. If you want to image broadband objects such as galaxies and star clusters or dark sky objects, remove the filter to achieve higher light throughput and brighter images. Experiment with removable and replaceable filters to achieve results you can't achieve with other systems' fixed filters.

If you want to try out advanced image processing, Origin is for you. Unlike other systems, Origin saves all of your raw images for you. Connect via USB to import into your favorite image processing software for manual editing and stacking.

And how about letting Origin work for you while you sleep? With the scheduled observations feature, this is no problem. Simply tell the app which objects you want to capture. You will wake up to a series of spectacular images.

Gain a new perspective here on Earth

In addition to revealing distant worlds, Origin can capture incredible views of land-based objects on Earth, day or night. During the day, you can manually pan Origin to capture landscapes and landscapes. At night, Origin's fast optics and sensitive camera allow you to see things in very dark environments, providing near night vision-like performance. Look around your yard or campsite at night to see what you might be missing!

Take your astrophotography studio with you wherever you go

Origin is a portable system that doesn't require external Wi-Fi networks, so you can easily take it with you to remote, dark skies in any car. The optical tube, holder and tripod can be easily assembled and disassembled without tools. Each component weighs less than 16 pounds. Carrying bags are also available as an option.

Your Origin system comes complete with everything you need to become an astronomer instantly:

6-inch RASA optical tube with integrated camera
Origin single fork arm mount with internal lithium battery
Built-in computer with cooling fans and WiFi
