Sky-Watcher's new, improved ESPRIT EDX 3-element ED apochromatic refractors are top-of-the-line instruments with impressive optical performance that rivals or even surpasses comparable telescopes from even the most well-known high-end brands.
ESPRIT EDX Super Apo Triplets were designed primarily for demanding astrophotographers, but are also ideal for visual observation. The high-quality, superbly corrected optical systems deliver high-contrast, detailed images with no noticeable color fringing, even on the brightest objects, ensuring exceptional contrast and sharpness.
The ESPRIT 150EDX features the same outstanding f/7 optical system as its predecessor, including a high-quality Japanese Ohara FPL-53 ED glass lens element. Each air-to-glass lens surface is coated with an exotic anti-reflective metal coating to ensure optimal light transmission of nearly 99.5%! Sky-Watcher's proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHTC) are the best-in-class photonic anti-reflective coatings!
The ESPRIT 150EDX features an improved backend design that eliminates the rotary dial of the previous model, allowing for easier focuser rotation. Additionally, a rotating adapter is attached to the drawtube for further ease of image composition. An accessory rail doubles as a carrying handle. The extremely rugged, CNC-machined, two-speed, rack-and-pinion linear focuser features high payload capacity and zero image shift, as well as a 3-inch indexed drawtube. Supplied in a foam-lined, aluminum-framed storage/carrying case.
An optically adapted field flattener (code 20190) and a 0.77x reducer/flattener (code 20096) are both available as optional imaging accessories.
