Products description
Antares 2" 0.7x focal length reducer - with 2" filter thread
The Reducer fits into the 2" filter thread of eyepieces or adapters and reduces the focal length by about 30%.
♦ Connecting thread: 2" filter thread (M48x0.75)
♦ Number of lenses: 2-element construction
♦ Pure focal length reduction, no additional correction such as field curvature, Newton coma, etc.
♦ Very well suited for visual observation with f / 10 telescopes such as SC, EHD, ACF etc.
♦ Well-suited for astrophotography with faint refractors (1:8 or less intense) equipped with 2" drawers
Antares 2" 0.7x focal reducer and telecompressor for low-fidelity telescopes
The 0.7x reducer fits any eyepiece and any adapter with 2" filter thread connection, screwed like a filter into the thread, the reducer housing is exactly 2".
The FR2-0.7x reduces the focal length to about 70%. A Schmidt Cassegrain with 2000mm focal length is thus reduced to 1400mm focal length, the light intensity and the field of vision improve accordingly. So you're making a f/10 f/7 telescope.
The 2 element reducer is installed in a solid aluminum cell. It can be used visually without restriction. For photography, the FR2-0.7x is conditionally usable as a telecompressor. There is no additional correction of the visual field. Therefore, we recommend the photographic use only on lower-power telescopes with good field correction, such as:
♦ EHD and ACF Cassegrain telescopes
♦ RC telescopes
♦ Refractors with the aperture ratio of 1:8 or fainter
All of these telescopes must be equipped with a 2" eyepiece extractor, which can not be combined with an existing corrector (coma corrector, flattener, etc.).
Velocity factor: 0.7x
Connecting thread: M48x0.75 filter thread
Number of lenses: 2 lenses
Remuneration: Full multi-compensation
