The Avalon M-Uno Fast Reverse Mount is a parallactic single-arm fork mount designed specifically for astrophotography. Of course, it is also very suitable for visual observations. With a carrying capacity of about 20kg, the mount is ideal for mobile use. A counterweight is not necessary with this mount, the mount is in balance.

The peculiarity: as with normal fork mounts, a swiveling at meridian passage is no longer necessary, it can simply be exposed through (see image row below). This saves valuable exposure time and also simplifies the image processing. The exposure times can be planned quite differently and also the REMOTE use becomes easier.


For which telescopes is the AVALOM M-UNO mount suitable:

Due to the construction, this mount is suitable for short telescopes. We recommend mounting Schmidt Cassegrains, EHD or ACF telescopes up to 11 "opening, GSO RCs up to 10" opening or APO refractors up to approx. 800mm focal length.

Revolutionary drive without gear play but without the disadvantages of friction wheel mounts:

The AVALON mounts are driven by a toothed belt. It has no backlash and is superior to other mechanical drive designs such as friction wheel. The AVALON mounts have a pendulum error of typically +/- 5 "to 7". This pendulum error occurs very slowly and absolutely regularly. It can be easily corrected by any autoguider.

The problem of many mounts is the gear play and errors in the motor gearbox. Especially with these, often very fast occurring errors, autoguiders are struggling and the result is unnecessarily big stars. This problem does not arise with the AVALON mounts.
