Celestron CGE Pro 925 SC Goto telescope on a very stable mount

The CGE Pro 925 Schmidt-Cassegrain belongs to the Celestron observatory class of computer-controlled, equatorial telescopes. It is the easiest to transport from the three different sizes. It is based on the new CGE Pro EQ mount. Especially at a fixed location, it is a solid platform for long-term astrophotography with optional CCD cameras or other photo cameras. With over 22 cm opening and StarBright XLT coating, the CGE Pro 925 collects over 1000 times more light than the naked eye.

Visually you can not only observe all objects in the Messier catalog and hundreds of equally interesting NGC, IC and Caldwell objects. Detailed observations on Mars, Jupiter, the Saturn rings are also possible, the planets further away from the sun are also within your reach.

The CGE Pro not only offers complete computer control with a database of over 40,000 objects, but is also a mechanical development of the successful CGE concept. It offers the following improvements:

Increased payload - A 14 "Schmidt-Cassegrain is stably and precisely carried for astrophotographic requirements - just like any other telescope with a tube weight of up to approx. 40kg (depending on the length).
All-Star Technology - The mount can be ordered with any bright reference star, even if you cannot see the polar star.
Northing without tools - Large, non-slip clamping screws for pole height and azimuth - this means that you can set the mounting axes quickly, easily and precisely even with deep minus degrees with gloves.
Panning over the meridian possible - Unlike the CGE mount, it is no problem to use the CGE Pro mount to track 20 degrees over the meridian without the telescope hitting the mount or tripod or you have to turn the device from east to west.
Faster positioning speed - Improved gears and motors allow higher speeds than ever before - up to five degrees per second. At the same time, the improved gears are a guarantee for more precise tracking. The motors and gear mechanism are strong enough to ensure normal operation even if the payload is poorly balanced.
Permanent PEC - The accuracy of the tracking without software corrections is +/- 9 arcseconds. The activation of "Permanent PEC" significantly improves this value.
Reduced gear backlash - pre-tensioned springs also press the worm against the worm wheel in the declination axis, which minimizes backlash.
Goto Accuracy - Following a simple alignment procedure, the CGE Pro approaches targets with up to five minutes of arc. With the advanced NexStar methods such as calibration stars, sync and precise Goto, accuracy can be improved down to an arc minute.
In addition to these improvements, the equatorial Celestron mounts have long offered features that both visual observers and photographers will appreciate. This includes:

Transportability - You can disassemble the CGE Pro into parts that are easy to transport. Unlike with fork mounts, you can easily separate the telescope from the mount. Even the CGE Pro 1400 can be set up in a few minutes.
Stability - For parallactic mounts, the center of gravity is directly above the tripod and you can align them on the Polarstern without additional pole height cradle. This prevents the "tuning fork effect" of undersized fork mounts. The CGE Pro has an improved, solid tripod with 2.75 "thick legs made of stainless steel, which can be extended to 1.40 meters. Two spiders additionally tension the legs and ensure even more stability.
Balance - CGE-Pro mounts can be easily balanced in both axes. To do this, simply move the telescope or the counterweights - you do not need any additional counterweights if you attach heavy accessories.
Free space - The telescope can rotate freely around the polar axis without hitting the mount. You can limit the swivel range using the software. This will prevent voluminous accessories from hitting the mount or tripod.
All telescopes with a CGE mount are compatible with the Celestron CN16 GPS receiver. When you connect the GPS to the built-in clock, you never have to enter the time and place again in the hand control box.

More information about the mount can be found on the CGE Pro website.

DETAILED INFORMATION

- StarBright XLT compensation
- equatorial, computer controlled CGE PRO mount
- Two preloaded ball bearings support the main mirror focusing of the Schmidt-Cassegrain to minimize "mirror tilting"
- Solid tripod with tubes made of NIROSta steel, height 96 to 144 centimeters r
- 6x30 finderscope
- Zenith prism / mirror enables comfortable observation of objects close to zenith
- proven NexStar computer control
- Object database with 40,000 entries, over 100 user-definable objects and in-depth information on over 200 objects
- New "All-Star Polar Alignment" for precise northing without Polarstern and polar finder
- Software functions include: calibration of the mount, limitation of the database with filters, last alignment (hibernate), five alignment routines
