Celestron CGEM 925 - 235 / 2350mm C9 GoTo telescope and mount

C9 1/4 - Schmidt Cassegrain - 235mm / 2350mm - on Goto Mount Celestron CGEM

(CGEM - 925 Computerized Telescope - 11098)

The C-9,25 is more than just an intermediate between the C-8 and the C-11.

The device offers a higher contrast and better field sharpness than comparable Schmidt Cassegrains. This makes the C-9,25 particularly interesting for the observation of the moon and planets. Celestron has designed the C-9,25 extra for star friends, who on the one hand do not want to do without opening, but on the other hand want to have sharpness and contrast close to a Maksutov.

This is the result of a complete recalculation of the optics. The C-9 is about as long as the C-11. Nevertheless, the aperture ratio is 1:10. Main and secondary mirrors do not have such an extreme aperture ratio and thus somewhat weaker radii than in other Schmidt Cassegrains. With the same manufacturing accuracy, the quality of the image in focus becomes better. Of course, every C-9,25 is hand-rubbed.

The CGEM carries the C9.25 with excellent stability and provides enough reserves even for heavy accessories. The combination is highly recommended for observation and photography.

Ready for FastStar

- The C9 is the latest version - already prepared for FastStar. With the HyperStar conversion kit you turn the C8 into a powerful F / 2 CCD Schmidt camera for astrophotography.

Information about the Celestron CGEM - parallactic mount with computer control - up to 20kg instrument weight

... massive GoTo mount for devices up to 11 "aperture - well suited for astrophotography.

Celestron CGEM Parallactic Mount GoTo

The CGEM mount from Celestron offers, in addition to an attractive design, also good inner values. The mount closes the gap between the proven Advanced GoTo mount (CAM) and the massive CGE. The CGEM can be loaded with equipment, up to about 20kg dead weight, depending on the application and lever.

Built-in tracking with automatic object positioning ... The CGEM comes with a complete GoTo control with approximately 40,000 stored objects and a clean working tracking.

Especially massive pole height ... Large knurled screws in azimuth and height allow easy adjustment of the mount, even at full load. The pole height is particularly solid and gives the mount a higher stability.

Innovative arrangement for astrophotography ... The CGEM has a particularly effective one-nosing procedure (All Star - patent pending). For a precise arrangement it is sufficient, after the calibration of the computer, simply to approach a bright star. The software then calculates the deviation from the optimal arrangement and then tells how far the mount in the azimuth and in the pole height still needs to be corrected. A Polsucher is no longer necessary.

Permanent electronic correction of the screw error ... Also very important for astrophotography - the permanent correction of the periodic error. The mount remembers the correction. The tracking becomes more accurate. Thus, the mount is particularly well suited for astrophotography.

The mount goes beyond the meridian ... Especially handy when taking long-exposure astro-shots and the object passes the meridian. The exposure can be continued. The mechanics of the mount allows a tracking far beyond the meridian passage, without swinging.

Sturdy 3 "prism clamp ... The CGEM already has the same massive 3" prism clamp as the Celestron CGE or Losmandy mounts. The 3 "clamp allows the use of sturdy, large prism rails, resulting in less vibration and more rigidity in the overall system.

Solid stainless steel tripod ... The height-adjustable stainless steel tripod is extendable to 140cm height. The stability is fully maintained. The wide adjustment range always brings the mount to the correct working height, depending on the instrument type.
