Celestron SET: CPC800 GoTo telescope with StarSense

Now in a set at a special price - CPC800 + StarSense

The CPC800 telescope

The CPC 800 GPS XLT is the portable fork-mounted upper-class telescope from Celestron and has StarBright XLT compensation. The telescope is perfectly suited for visual observations and also enables professional astrophotography with an optional polar height cradle and a CCD camera.

If you point the telescope at the planets, you will see fascinating details on the surface of Jupiter, the Cassini division of the Saturn rings and surface details on Mars. Even Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are within your reach.

Despite the large opening, thanks to the practical handle and a weight of around 19 kg, the telescope is so portable that you can set it up in your garden as well as in your favorite place under the dark sky.

Comprehensive database

The database of the CPC telescopes contains over 40,000 celestial objects, including the Messier and Caldwell catalogs as well as galaxies and nebulae from the NGC catalog and the planets. You can narrow down the selection to make it easier to search this extensive database and hide the objects that are just below the horizon.

The "Identify" function tells you what you are currently seeing in the telescope, and you can also use it to easily explore the sky. Just point the telescope at any area of the sky and have the next Messier objects displayed, for example - the telescope will approach them for you. You can do this in different areas of the sky and with different objects!

With "Solar Sys Align" you can align the telescope with the sun or moon during the day to observe the planets or the brightest stars in the daytime sky.

First steps with your Celestron telescope Exclusive to selected telescopes

We enclose the book "First steps with your Celestron telescope" exclusively with selected telescopes that are sold through Celestron Germany and authorized German dealers - such as the CPC800. It helps you not only to operate the telescope correctly, but also when observing the first targets and choosing the right accessories.

More information about the book can be found here.

Avoid electronic damage - think of the right power supply!

For the correct operation of the device, please only use high-quality power supplies that also meet the specifications in astro Outdoor use is sufficient - cheap power supplies often only supply the specified voltage and power at room temperature and, in the worst case, can even damage the electronics. Suitable high-quality power supplies can be found on the left under Optional accessories.
The StarSense module

An independent telescope computer with built-in camera.

Your telescope becomes intelligent: it automatically knows what the sky looks like. How to become an astronomer in three minutes!

With the StarSense module, the revolutionary technology of the award-winning SkyProdigy telescopes is now available for almost all computer-controlled Celestron telescopes. Before the development of StarSense technology, computer-controlled telescopes had to be initialized via two or more reference stars - in this alignment process, at least two bright stars usually have to be centered in the eyepiece. StarSense telescopes perform the alignment fully automatically. This will make you an astronomer within three minutes - even if you have never used a telescope before.

The problem:

Classifying a classic equatorial mount with polar finder is time-consuming: the polar finder must be set correctly and you kneel under the mount to find the Polarstern. The All-Star Polar Align of the equatorial mounts with NexStar hand controller does this for you: You align the mount roughly to the north and carry out a go-alignment - the mount automatically moves to two bright reference stars, which you only center in the eyepiece have to. This means that the telescope is already sufficiently calibrated for visual observation. For exact tracking and photographic use, then call the All-Star Polar-Align routine to align the mount block with another reference star - you can easily look into the eyepiece.

The solution:

It becomes even easier with StarSense: The twilight starts and the StarSense camera finds and recognizes the reference stars - you only have to roughly position the mount, switch it on and wait a bit, then you can use the visual observation or the All-Star Polaralign to precisely position it start for photography.

The fully automatic:

It is even more convenient with an azimuthal mount: You don't even have to north-set the mount here, you just have to set it up, switch it on - and you can start observing a few minutes later.

The plate-solving technology in the StarSense module can therefore compare stars recorded with the integrated camera during twilight with the internal sky model - while you can hardly see any stars visually, simply because the sky is still too bright. With the start of the night, everything is ready thanks to StarSense.

StarSense is not only compatible with all current computer-controlled Celestron telescopes, but also with many older models (see list below).

The StarSense accessory set consists of a small digital camera that is attached to the telescope tube and a special hand controller. Install the set on the telescope, then all you have to do is press the ALIGN button on the hand controller, and StarSense starts taking pictures of the night sky and comparing them with the stored list of over 40,000 objects. After about three minutes, StarSense has enough information to determine the alignment of the telescope. Then you can go to any object in the database or ask for observation suggestions using the SKY TOUR function.

Even experienced observers will appreciate the affordable StarSense module. StarSense replaces expensive software for advanced mount modeling and enables excellent positioning accuracy from horizon to horizon. You can add as many calibration stars as you want to improve accuracy.
