Dust or lint on lenses or mirrors

If manufacturers use white felt for dust caps, white "dust" or lint can accumulate on the lenses due to abrasion. This is unavoidable and can be removed repeatedly with a blower. This is less noticeable with black felt.

We can remove this coating with purified compressed air or a blower, but over time and during transport, this dust will settle on the lenses again. This has little to no visual effect. You could also replace the white felt with black felt.
