"EQ-Plattform 1" Dobsonian track for Dobson

1The platform uses vertical ellipse segments designed in 3D CAD. The segments are made of 5mm thick aluminum and can be made for different latitudes.

The platform is powered by an EQ2 Nachwrotor of Skywatcher, whose speed can be controlled over a large area.

The platform can be tracked for approximately 1 hour when properly set up before it must be returned to its original position. Especially during astro-drawing it can be annoying at high magnifications when the object drifts again and again out of the field of view. But even if you just watch, the tracking is a nice thing. You can also get away from the telescope without having to search for the object afterwards.

The tracking accuracy is quite sufficient for visual observation. For astrophotography the platform is not suitable.

The EQ platform is suitable for 12 "- 16" lattice tube dobs, and Dobson's, e.g. from GSO of 10 "-12"

The platform is very sturdy and carries my 16 "F4.5 (30KG) with ease.

Please note that you have to adjust the position of the Teflon pads for the slide bearing to your Dobson. Parts such as Teflon pads and wheels are included.
Dobson like GSO's can be put directly on the platform.
