A Dobson telescope convinces with an easy handling, no heavy counterweights, no material battle around the stream - just pure observation joy. But ... if the object would still remain inside the eyepiece field of view and you could save the annoying replenishment, that would be very pleasant.

The EQ platform for your Dobson is the solution:

Dobson platform engine

The drive motor of the platform is a normal tracking motor from mass production. That reduces the price. The engine has an internal battery supply (9V block) which lasts for about 50 hours of tracking operation.

Method of Use:

Deviations of up to 5 ° in the observation and also planetary and moon photography are not significant. So you can use the platform e.g. use in Central Europe, with no deviations. For different widths, such as 35 ° to 45 ° north / south latitude, we also offer a model.

You can just put your Dobson on the platform, no adjustments are needed. Please make sure that the Dobson's feet are on the slip-resistant strip.

2. Assembly of the drive.

3. Setting up the platform.
The platform is set up on as level a surface as possible. If the ground is not level, you can help out with wooden wedges. The circle segment must point to the north. A gobe orientation is completely sufficient, e.g. with a compass.

4. Setting the motor speed.
The direction of rotation of the motor must be set to "S". Turn on the engine and aim the telescope
on a bright star. If the star drifts out of the image field, the engine speed must be set.
Now change the speed of the engine. Repeat this process until the star does not
more visible drifts out of the frame. The power supply is via a 9V block battery (not in the
