Experience Lacerta 72/432 ED-Apo

Since I wanted to try my hand at wide-field astrophotography, I decided in the fall of 2021 to get a small apo lens. I chose the Lacerta 72/432 ED apo lens, which was to be used in combination with the corresponding flattener. Unfortunately, initially, only the apo lens was available on its own, but that didn't stop me from trying it out visually and photographically. Visually tested on Jupiter in combination with your TS Planetary 5mm, the small refractor definitely delivers, giving the observer a crisp, sharp image that doesn't have to hide from my 8" Dobsonian. The images from my initial photographic tests with an EOS 600D are also nothing to sneeze at, except for the fact that the missing flattener causes distorted stars off-center.
Due to supply and material bottlenecks at the time, I unfortunately still couldn't call a flattener my own at the beginning of 2022, which is why Mr. Kloß offered to send me a TSFLAT2. I gratefully accepted this offer and was able to try it out for the first time shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, the result wasn't what I wanted, and I worked with Mr. Kloß to find a solution.

Mr. Kloß truly showed great patience with me, as the experiments often dragged on for months. This was partly thwarted by bad weather, partly by lack of time. Various distances were tried using spacer rings, as well as new screw connections and connectors on the OAZ. Finally, in November 2022, it was discovered by chance in a photo I sent to Mr. Kloß that I hadn't installed an included screw.

Unfortunately, due to bad weather and lack of time, I'm once again denied further photo sessions. Should I gain any new insights, I'll report back.
