Experience and recording M51 with Askar FRA300
Hello Mr. Kloß,
After a few clear nights, I can now say with certainty: Askar's telescope is amazing. This time I focused on M51 and, after sorting out the "bad" frames, I was able to get a total of 5 hours of exposure. The resolution of this little Petzval telescope is fantastic. I'm also attaching a crop of the original image for a detailed view.
With the right seeing, images are possible right up to the absolute optical limits of this telescope.
Fine stars, great details, and a very flat field. I also couldn't detect any shadowing.
The image data:
Askar FRA300 F5
Ioptron GEM28
ZWO ASI183MM Pro
Askar FMA135 with ASI120MM Mini
Astronomik DeepSky Filter Set LRGB
Astronomik Halpha 6nm
Controlled via ASIair Pro
L: 260x30sec / 30x120sec
RGB each: 20x30sec / 10x120sec
Ha: 10x300sec integrated in the red channel
Thank you for the recommendation, which I can definitely pass on. A great telescope with high-quality optics and mechanics, especially considering the price.
Sincerely,
Christoph S.
