Experience with SkyWatcher SkyLiner 250P Dobson, Baader Hyperion Aspheric 31mm and Zoom Mark IV eyepiece
Dear Mr. Kloss,
Some time ago, I bought a Skywatcher Dobsonian 250P from you and retrofitted it with a Hyperion Aspheric 31mm. I was very happy with the telescope from the start; despite its size, it's really easy to use and has given me some breathtaking views of the night sky! The Hyperion Aspheric 31mm has significantly surpassed these impressions. Beautiful, partly well-resolved deep sky objects, such as the Andromeda Galaxy, the Ring Nebula and the Orion Nebula, star clusters, etc. And just looking at the starry sky with the good resolution right down to the edge and a truly large field of view is always dreamy and thought-provoking. Thank you very much for your excellent advice. The overview of the starry sky alone is wonderful thanks to the wide perspective through this eyepiece!
I recently purchased the Baader Mark IV zoom eyepiece from you. The eyepiece is very practical (no need to change quickly) and offers a really decent field of view at the highest magnification. Jupiter with cloud bands, Mars with the beginnings of structures, and Saturn's ring are clearly visible even in low-light conditions (urban areas). Deep-sky objects can also be zoomed in nicely, and some of them are clearly visible in detail. Craters on the moon can also be zoomed in well. The resolution is good, depending on the lighting conditions (Jupiter and Saturn, for example, sometimes blur), and with a little patience, it really allows for quite a lot.
I now want to purchase another eyepiece that allows for higher magnification and especially improves planetary and lunar observation (around 4 or 5 mm focal length?). Would filters be useful for urban lighting conditions? Do you have any recommendations for me?
Many thanks and best regards,
Andreas N.
