Experience with ZWO SeeStar S50

After more than three weeks of overcast skies, I finally had the opportunity to use the Seestar S50 last Sunday.

After a few "dry runs" in my room over the past few weeks, I was fairly familiar with the operation and was able to start taking my first photos within a few minutes. It's really very easy to use, especially when the sky is only briefly clear, as is increasingly the case.

I had selected two objects in the StarWalk app (M 41 and NGC 2244). First, NGC 2244. The object was quickly centered, and the images could be taken. With only a three-minute exposure time (10 seconds each), the contours of the Rosette Nebula were visible, the stars were largely round, and the overall image looked great for my needs. A great deal for the cost and the minimal preparation effort. I've never been able to observe the Rosette Nebula before, neither visually nor photographically, so the purchase was already worthwhile for me. I've attached the stacked image to the email. It was downloaded directly from the Seestar storage and slightly enhanced with Fitswork.

Despite everything, visual observation with my 10" Dobsonian will still be my main focus, and I see the Seestar as a great complement to that. I've already observed many objects with the Dobsonian and even drawn some of them with the telescope, and now I can photograph and compare them as a supplement - great.
