On a RedCat51 / Spacecat51 the focuser ring is jammed. Nothing works anymore. Bombproof.
Tool: four hands
Two people unscrew the dew cap with the grooved ring (which is not a real ring, but a structure on the dew cap).
Here the area under the dew cap becomes visible. Since the focuser is now completely smooth, the fault is not to be found here.
Looking inside the dew cap, you can see a white Teflon ring:
The smooth part in the first photo between the black focuser ring and the ribbed part of the dewcap is a single ring that, in conjunction with the dewcap, clamps the Teflon ring. This was screwed too tightly to the dew cap and therefore fixes the focusing ring.
Here the ring individually:
If the Teflon ring should ever become independent: it belongs in this way:
When reassembling, first the small ring is attached
Then simply screw the dew cap back on.
