Information and pictures about the telescope on the cover image

The telescope is a Zeiss Cassegrain. It has a 16-inch (400mm) aperture and a focal length of 6635mm. The mirror is made of Zerodur and has a Strehl ratio of 99.7%. The total weight, including the mount, is 550kg and was lifted into Uwe Meiling's dome using a mobile crane.
