Introduction and short test of the Askar FMA180 Pro 180mm f/4.5 Astrograph with APO lens

Askar has further developed the FMA180 for astrophotography and has now released the Askar FMA180 Pro.

First of all, unlike the previous FMA180, the FMA 180 Pro is a device developed for photography and is therefore not intended for visual use.

Key advantages for photographic use are:
-Significantly better color correction. Star colors are reproduced neutrally, and the blue fringing of the FMA180 has been eliminated.
-Camera adaptation is now via a standard M48 thread.
-The FMA180 Pro can now illuminate sensors up to full format and correct the image field to a large extent. Backfocus/working distance from the M48 thread: 55mm.
-A rotator has also been integrated for convenient camera rotation and aligning the image field.
-The base is now a Vixen rail, onto which the foot in the form of a viewfinder holder is screwed, allowing the FAM180 Pro to be adapted to the respective clamps.
-A viewfinder holder is screwed onto the top.

Initial tests confirm the excellent image quality of the FMA180 Pro, as demonstrated by an example on an M45 lens.
