The telescope Meade ETX-90 PE-UHTC consists of a Maksutov-Cassegrain (reflecting telescope) mounted in an automatically controlled azimuthal two-arm fork mount. The Maksutov-Cassegrain Optik is a reflecting telescope with an additional Maksutov lens in the beam path.
This correction lens guarantees a pin-sharp image without annoying color errors. The azimuthal mount of the ETX-90PE is able to navigate the telescope with two motors through horizontal and vertical movements over the starry sky. As an electronic control, the included Autostar Handbox.
The Autostar Handbox can, without a domestic PC or laptop, automatically approach and track a large number of objects in the starry sky so that the object of desire remains in the field of vision despite the earth's rotation.

The Meade ETX-90PE offers the ambitious hobby astronomer the opportunity to get closer to the starry sky with a lot of comfort. Automatic positioning with countless stored objects, automatic tracking and a very low weight allow the amateur astronomer comfortable observations of the home garden or balcony, or dark places outside the illuminated cities. The 90mm telescope aperture and powerful optics of the Maksutov-Cassegrain design, paired with a high focal length (1250mm), are perfect for detailed observations of the moon and the planets of our solar system. Small bright objects such as globular clusters or planetary nebulae are already visible with this telescope. With an optional 45 ° reversing prism, the telescope can also be used as a spotting scope for daily observations.

A Maksutov is just perfect for the moon and planets. If you live in a polluted area and you do not have the opportunity to move to darker areas, you should definitely include this system in your considerations. If you can not see enough deep sky objects anyway, a telescope for the moon and planets (sun ONLY with a suitable filter) is considered. Even in light polluted areas, these objects will always be a worthwhile destination due to their brightness. Although bright deep sky objects are possible, the main focus will be on the moon and planets.

Enjoy beautiful lunar and detailed planet observations (like the rings of Saturn, moon shadow games on Jupiter or its big red spot) and also interesting deep-sky excursions to brighter objects, such as the Orion Nebula, the open binary star cluster (h and chi) in the Perseus or even the galaxy groups M81, not to mention the star cluster in the Hercules M 13!

Together with the bright and contrasting picture, beautiful details show up here. Of course, the field of view is slightly smaller than short-range devices, but I do not need it on the moon and planets. Since the longer focal length is advantageous because you do not need additional Barlow lens for higher magnifications. This is used at very high magnifications, if the visibility conditions (low air movement, good transparency of the sky ...) allow it. (Bear in mind that every movement of air is magnified.) Since the moon reflects enough light, it will be used primarily to observe the craters and surface structures of our satellite.
