The mount LX85 is designed for mobile astrophotography. With its powerful servomotors and the Meade Smart Drive technology, it follows the sky rotation and keeps the telescope focused on the desired object for long exposure times - and without turning over the meridian passage!

The LX85 mount is particularly lightweight, making it ideal for mobile use in the garden or a viewing spot under a particularly dark sky.
The GoTo AudioStar control helps to position the telescope correctly and automatically drives the desired observation object. This is also ideal for beginners!
The LX85 mount allows the connection of an autoguider for precise tracking control.
Versatility: The LX85 mount follows the usual standard for telescoping. It is therefore usable with most commercial telescopes up to 15kg weight.




Meade offers the mount with a wide range of great optics in the set: inexpensive Newtonian telescopes, a Maksutov optic for lunar and planetary specialists, ACF optics that can be used for almost all astronomical purposes, and even high-quality apochromats for demanding photographers!



The manual control AudioStar contains a database of 30,000 celestial objects. Once aligned in the sky, AudioStar can point the telescope at each of these objects and keep them centered in the eyepiece - of course only if the object is just above the horizon. This so-called GoTo functionality is supplemented by additional features, such as guided tours, position display and connection to the PC.

A special feature of the AudioStar controller is the built-in speaker. The built-in Astronomer Inside technology provides over four hours of voice output (in English only). The built-in astronomer knows interesting things about the set in the control celestial object to report!

Meade Smart Drive: As the telescope magnifies the sky object, an astronomical mount must be very precise. Even small fluctuations interfere with longer exposure times. Small fluctuations are always given, since the worm shaft of the transmission can not be perfectly round. These recurring fluctuations can be detected and compensated by the computer control. The Smart Drive technology enables this permanent periodic error correction (PPEC).
