It is possible to correct the north alignment on the Meade LS:
After a while of use, the north alignment on the Meade Lightswitch may need to be readjusted/calibrated.
Please use this setting very carefully and with caution!!!
If the telescope is still under warranty, please contact your dealer before adjusting anything!
To correct the north alignment, proceed as follows:
Turn on the telescope.
As soon as the first message appears, press the "9" key on the hand controller/handbox.
The prompt "Enter Code" will then appear.
Now enter the numbers "752".
There will be no further prompt, and the telescope will start up normally.
The "Setup" menu now contains the new sub-item "Factory Calib." (in German: factory settings).
Then select the sub-item "North Sensor".
Correct the north alignment using a compass (preferably two!). Avoid metal sources in the immediate vicinity.
Confirm with Enter.
Note:
As soon as the telescope is turned off, the menu item disappears the next time it is turned on. This means that if you want to access the hidden menu item again, you have to press the key combination again each time.
