Meade Telescope AC 70/900 Polaris EQ

Item Description:

The Polaris telescopes from Meade offer small to medium optics with lots of accessories on a parallactic mount at a very good price.

With this type of mount, an axis is aligned with the north star (Polaris). This polar alignment means that the telescope only has to be rotated continuously around an axis to compensate for the sky rotation. This is not only convenient, it also makes orientation easier with the help of a star map.

The tracking is done by hand using a handy rotary knob that is connected to a flexible shaft. A motor is also available as an option.

Each Polaris telescope is supplied with a tubular steel tripod for better stability.

The optics AC 70/900: With an aperture of 70mm, this refractor already collects 100 times as much light as the naked eye and therefore also a lot more light than classic entry-level telescopes with a slightly smaller aperture of 60mm. Thus, it also has a higher resolution and shows you with a maximum magnification of 140x first details while observing the large planets Saturn, Jupiter and Mars. The moon is also a very worthwhile object: You can beautifully observe the crater landscape of the moon, which always appears in a different light depending on the phase.

With this optic, interesting natural observations in daylight are possible with a reversing lens or with an Amici prism. Focusing takes place by means of a setting wheel on the focuser that drives it via a rack. In this way, the sharpness can always be precisely adjusted and remains reliably fixed during the observation.

The advantages at a glance:

easy to set up in minutes
collects 36% more light than a 60mm telescope
very clear and high-contrast image
1.25 "focuser for all standard eyepieces
Lens telescopes like this are also particularly suitable for children, because the deep eyepiece view at the telescope end can be reached without a ladder. In addition, the operation is very intuitive and no adjustment has to be made. A telescope for beginners and the whole family!
