Mercury transit on November 11, 2019
A transit of Mercury occurs when the planet Mercury passes in front of the Sun as seen from Earth. This event happens at irregular intervals of 3.5 to 13 years, less frequently than a total solar eclipse. The next transit will not occur until November 13, 2032.
Here is a beautiful image of a Mercury transit taken by astrophotographer Roland Störmer on May 9, 2016.
