Dobson Telescopes from Orion USA have very good selected optics and offer a very good mechanical quality, starting from the eyepiece pullout to the holder of the main mirror. This gives you the best possible picture for this telescope class.

With the GoTo Dobson telescopes, Orion combines the advantages of a dobson (large aperture, good transport and low cost) with the advantages of a GoTo telescope (automatic tracking and positioning). Comparable GoTo telescopes, e.g. Schmidt Cassegrains, cost almost double the price and can not offer more. Even astrophotography of the moon and planets are possible with these telescopes, through automatic tracking.

More than 42,000 objects can be approached after a short calibration. The telescoping of the telescope requires only a few minutes and you have an illuminated crosshair eyepiece, so that the alignment of the GoTo telescope is particularly good. The objects are then always positioned in the central area of ​​the high-quality 2 "overview eyepiece, so you have enough observation possibilities for a whole life.

Positioning at the touch of a button and simply observing - thanks to the automatic tracking, the object remains always in the eyepiece - even at the highest magnification. This allows you to also use eyepieces that have a particularly high sharpness on the optical axis and can focus fully on the target during the observation and do not have to constantly follow the object.

The high-quality 2 "Crayford extension with a 1:10 microcomputer allows for a very accurate focus, especially with the moon and the planets, and it is also the prerequisite for successful photos of these objects, with a reduction to 1.25" So you can use 2 "and 1.25" eyepieces and photo adapters.

The diffraction-limited 10 "f / 4,7 optics with forced reflectivity (94%) provide a bright, contrast-rich image with a central marking for accurate collimation The telescope is adapted to the outside temperature and you can start with the observation.

The Orion GoTo Dobsons come with optical encoders, even with manual adjustment, the astro computer does not lose the orientation. This provides you with all the functions of a normal dobson AND of a GoTo telescope with tracking. The motors are characterized by a low energy consumption (max. 2A), you can work with a compact power supply all night.
