120 mm (4.75 in) f/900 ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescope

The Evostar-120ED apochromatic doublet refractor telescope has received some exciting improvements. We are pleased to introduce the new EVOSTAR-120EDX model, the result of several extremely useful mechanical improvements. Finished in its stunning new white and green livery, the EVOSTAR-120EDX, along with the necessary accessories, presents itself as an excellent instrument for imaging and visual applications.
The new EVOSTAR-120EDX model now features an enlarged 2.8-inch index focusing tube with an integrated 360° rotating adapter, a retractable dew shield, and a top accessory rail that conveniently doubles as a carrying handle.
The lens features the same outstanding, proprietary f/7.5 optics as the previous model, including a high-quality Japanese Ohara FPL-53 ED glass lens element that virtually eliminates chromatic aberration. An optional optically matched 0.85x focal reducer/field flattener (code 20234) is available for imaging.
The optics deliver razor-sharp stars with deep, high-contrast skies. Each air-to-glass lens surface is coated with exotic anti-reflective metal coatings to ensure optimal light transmission of nearly 99.5%! Sky-Watcher's proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHTC) are the highest-quality photonic anti-reflection coatings in their class.
Apochromatic refractors produce the sharpest, highest-quality optical images available at any aperture, thanks to their unobstructed, textbook-like diffraction patterns, which no other optical telescope system can match.

Evostar ED doublets have long been the preferred imaging refractors of many astrophotographers due to their outstanding imaging performance and affordable price. Due to their lower glass content, they are also generally significantly lighter and more manageable than a comparable triplet or other multi-piece ED refractors.
