Special prominence (loop) on June 24, 2024
I've actually rarely captured this type of prominence on camera. I'm all the more pleased to have been lucky enough to photograph a large one this morning. Below the prominence, you can see part of a very large filament, but the exposure and processing were understandably focused on the prominence. A small burst of energy also occurred at the edge of the Sun. Here's a shot I'm still editing that shows the event. It'll follow...
