Synscan handheld terminal - button does not respond
Product Description
With the Synscan handheld terminal, be it the V3, V4, or V5, we often get feedback that a key doesn't respond, or that you have to apply gentle force until it responds.
There are two solutions:
1. If the contact is oxidized (which we've rarely seen so far): Unscrew the handheld terminal and remove the mainboard so that the foil and contact surfaces on the mainboard are accessible.
Now carefully erase the contacts on the mainboard with an eraser until they are shiny again.
2. There is dust between the contact of the rubber keypad and the metal contacts on the mainboard.
Now unscrew the mainboard as described under 1. and remove the dust with a cotton swab and a blower (e.g., one from Giotto).
Then screw it back together and test.
