IMAGING STAR Apo Refractor Telescopes Telescopes have been developed for the dedicated astrophotograph. Lens and corrector are optimally matched for best results on the axis and in the field. This 102mm ImagingStar Apo offers with f / 5.1 an enormous light intensity. In a direct comparison to an APO with f / 6 you reach with this Apo the same saturation with approximately 70% exposure time.

The APO offers a completely corrected and illuminated image field with approx. 42mm diameter. We recommend it, for example, for owners of uncooled DSLR cameras, since the noise can be kept very low by the moderate exposure times. The APO is, of course, also suitable for CCD cameras with high-resolution sensors.

The adaptation of the camera:

The camera is connected via the M48x0.75 thread. The distance from the thread to the camera sensor is exactly 55mm. You just need the T-ring (see accessory recommendations) and the camera and you are automatically at the correct distance.

The 2.5 "eyepiece extract:

The 3-element corrector for perfect correction of the field:

The multi-compensated 3-element corrector is fixed and located at the optimum distance from the lens and the camera. The free opening of the corrector is 48.5mm. The corrector is temperature-compensated and tension-free, like the lens. Even at minus degrees, the image quality remains constant.

Visual observation with the ImagingStar APO:
Due to the relatively short distance from the corrector to the focus, the APO is not suitable for use with normal 1.25 "or 2" zenith mirrors. Nevertheless, the Apo also offers visually impressive performance thanks to the large corrected image field. We offer the observers a short adapter flange with a zenith mirror which is clamped directly to the extension, instead of the M48 adaptation (TSIS-ZS1).
