Test recordings with the Sky-Watcher Skymax 90, part two
After observing sunspots in white light, it was time to turn to the moon. Again, only gaps in the clouds and the familiar 50% cloud cover typical of Ventusky were visible. Of course, it's not just the clouds that matter, but also the strong air movement between them. And this was intense. Normally, you wouldn't even set up in these conditions. But the sheer fun of it and the curiosity to see what this little gem could do was stronger than all experience...
Equipment:
Telescope: Sky-Watcher Skymax90
Camera: ASI 178MC
Mount: Celestron AVX
And then this, in my opinion, "amazing photo" was taken. Despite all the poor seeing conditions, the Maksutov-Cassegrain showed what it's capable of. I can only say that I'm amazed by what it can achieve with just a 90mm aperture.
For me, this telescope is an absolutely recommendable travel telescope. Checked and collimated by Karl if necessary, it arrives perfectly aligned at the customer's (in this case, mine :-). It's stable, easy to handle, and compact, making it portable. It also comes with reference photos or observations for this aperture. The only thing is that focusing requires a VERY delicate touch; it demands a lot of care. But then... see photo.
As an older lady once said to me: ...for that little bit of money!
Best regards,
