Topic: Beginners in Astrophotography 2 - Martin Stenke
Hello fellow stargazers! Today we'd like to introduce you to astrophotographer Martin Stenke.
Hello Martin, how did you get into astronomy as a hobby?
I'm extremely pleased to be here. A little about myself: I've been interested in astronomy since I was a child, and I'm grateful to my parents for buying me a 50mm f/12 refractor for 270 DM in the mid-1970s, which was a lot of money back then. I stuck with it, and thanks to some savings and my confirmation money, I was gradually able to upgrade and improve my equipment.
During my studies and the first few years of my career, I put the hobby on hold, but then the internet brought me to the attention of the possibilities of astrophotography after the digital revolution, and I've been back at it since around 2007, taking my first photos in 2009. As someone not very computer savvy (a disadvantage!), my learning curve was slow, and I initially only photographed the moon and planets.
