Hello Marc, tell us how you got into this hobby.

Hello Rudi and Karl,

Thank you for letting me be part of the introductions of the beginners.

I'm 46 years old and live in the heart of the Ruhr area. I got into astronomy, and later astrophotography, in 1997, when Comet Hale-Bopp was visible to the naked eye, and I was annoyed that I didn't own a telescope. I bought a used 114/900mm Bresser Newtonian. After some initial problems, my glimpse into the cosmos was complete... Moon, Saturn... and then it was over. I was young and needed the money for something else, so the hobby was put on hold for a while.
